Nokia 5800 Game Review: Ovi Maps Racing – Available free on Ovi Store for a limited time

Ovi Maps Racing is a location based game. A location based game refers to any game which in some way relates or progresses with reference to the player's current location. Ovi Maps Racing utilizes maps by Navteq and the inbuilt GPS of the phone.

Ovi Maps Racing allows the gamer to create his/her own racing track and race along the track. For this, the game utilizes the phone's inbuilt GPS which recognizes the player's current location and allows him/her to race around the neighborhood. This is amazing and quite real life to some extent. Ovi Maps Racing misses motion control and the gamer has to use the two thumb touch control for guiding the car. You have options for selecting three different cars. The game works just great and runs smoothly. This game is a 2D game and you see the top view of the racing track. The car control is sensitive and it auto accelerates.

Ovi Maps Racing developed by Lynx can be downloaded free of cost from Ovi Store. It is a limited period offer and can become a paid application pretty soon. The download size is 8.5 MB since it contains maps for many of the popular cities across the globe. If somehow your location is not supported by the game, you have the option to create an offline track from predefined cities.
