Apple Q1 profits through the roof, iPhone sales keep going

Apple, just can t seem to stop, improving their effectiveness, they announced financial results for the quarter, which throws and they've broken the records and archives. Again. Year over year, more than twice the iPhone sales and profits have been through the roof.

Here are the numbers: $ 24.67 billion dollars in revenue (a record for the quarter), $ 5,99 billion net profit (again, save for the quarter), 41.4% gross margin and international sales represented 59% of the proceeds.

During the first quarter of this year, (which is in Apple's Q2 financial calendar) Apple shipped 18.65 million iPhones, a whopping increase of 113% compared with year ago quarter. During the last three months of 2010, the number of iPhones shipped is 16.24 million.

In the meantime hasn t this iPad is so hot 4,7 million units were shipped in comparison with 7.3 million in the previous quarter. IPad, launched in March 2010 no year over year numbers and iPad 2, launched in March 2011, so that couldn t help much with sales of Apple's tablet. iPod sales fell year on 17% during the year (10.9 million in Q1 2010 to 9 million in Q1 2011).

Total desktop sales are down (-12% year over year), while mobile PCs experienced astronomic leads Apple s mobile gadget went up marginally year on 53% during the year (in terms of units shipped).

For Q2 of 2011, Apple's CFO is predicting 23 billion dollars in revenue. Ambitious, but it is certainly possible that Apple form for the latter.
