Sony Ericsson has just announced its first series of Walkman phone to run Android (or otherwise). It seems, W8 is XPERIA X 8 but with a little fancy colors and the WALKMAN logo.
As his brother, 8 X Sony Ericsson W8 Sport 3-inch kapacitivna touchscreen with a resolution of 320 × 480 pixels, 3.5 mm headphone jack and 3 .2MP camera. While under the hood there are 600 MHz one core processor ticking, with 168 MB of RAM.
W8 will run Android 2.1, which is a bit unfortunate, because most Droids on the market now are running Froyo or even gingerbread. However, this is the first Walkman phone to run on the Google Mobile OS, which will be covered by UI Timescape.
As the Walkman, the phone will come with stereo headphones Sony Ericsson MH410.
Sony Ericsson W8 will be available in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Viet Nam starting in Q2 2011 in the choice of colors-Blue company, metal red and iconic orange. Pricing is still unknown, though.
